The Great Rift Valley

Climb Mount Longonot

Mount Longonot is a dormant volcano that stands above Lake Naivasha and can be seen from far around. A relatively challenging 4-5 hour hike, the ascent to the crater of Mount Longonot is worth it for the wonderful views from the top both down into the volcanic crater and across the Great Rift Valley.

Visit the Joy Adamson Museum at Elsamere, which details her life and work. Guests can have tea, see the Colobus Monkeys, watch a video of Joy Adamson’s life and wander around the small museum.
